Analysis of UNITIAN (i.e. Peacekeepers or United Nation forces as they were once known) space craft design history and development.
A: 2150 Example of the small KANDOR type capsule, still terrestrially launched in most cases, these simple orbital patrol units have a limited range. There only “armament” is a weak class 0.5 laser for debris removal and diffraction examination. Though potentially harmful if targeting sensitive areas of satellites, if used more than three times it would melt the unit. In addition the mediocre PROMETH13 fission reactor has limited battery storage for power, and on top of that the inefficient radiators where really only suited to engine cooling without any additional load. Typically the excess heat was dumped into the orbiter module before the crew capsule separated and re-entered the atmosphere. Taking all of this into account it was still an exceptional craft considering it was launched only 50 years after planet-fall, some of the first launches contained recycled components from the original UNITY space craft which brought humanity to Chiron, such as coolant housings and stem-bolts.

B: 2200 Around the time that most major factions where beginning Orbital facility construction, these specifically armed Stay-in-orbit craft where in use. With extended ranges capable of Bi-Lunar slingshots, the improved HALKECHEV-REYNARDS fusion engine allowed for months of viable thrust and independent patrol. The vastly improved class 1.7 frontal laser could fire six consecutive shots before over-heat. Unfortunately the craft still had to share radiator power with the engines. The vast majority of the destructive payload where the 32 missile tubes on the port and starboard of the craft. These could be equipped with many warheads, such as Impiles for kinetic annihilation, or Adhiles for grab-and-de-orbit, as space debris was still a pressing issue of the times. These craft where integral in the defence of such installations as the Space tether at U.N.Spacy city.

C:2350 As terrestrial conflicts where quickly escalating, so to where orbital ones. Factions would tentatively lead strikes against armed satellite positions and mining outposts. For this reason dedicated “space-battle-craft” became an absolute, this Doryphoros class is the most prominent example of such design. Even more efficient fusion engines allowed for continuous orbital patrols, of years on end. It utilised a buffer lawyer of fuel cells to stop radiation transfer. Its primary weapons were a dorsal and ventral class 5 20mm laser turrets, able to liquefy satellites and ships at hundreds of thousands of kilometres away. It also had a smaller frontal ball turret laser at class 3, located awkwardly on the nose. Though still able to rotate with the crew section it served a second more valuable purpose. It was around this time that trans-orbital space planes began to dominate air battles, however it would be years before suitably lightweight and powerful fusion power plants became available. To cope the Doryphoros class would use the frontal turret to tether and beam polarized energy to fighters, enabling them to reach the trans-atmospheric flight paths necessary.

D:2500 The Trireme class was one of of
the big 3(Spartan, Free Drone and United Nations) Main line
Battleorbiter’s. Equipped with two immensely powerful class 9 35mm
electron beam turrets mounted on the sides, along with two class 5 20mm
pulsers mounted on sliding turrets, only a single shot from either
batteries was needed to destroy most main line space craft from any
force, being able to melt through dozens of metres of rock or armour.
Backed up with 18 large missile tubes the force of a single ship
could defend a whole station. It’s main improvements over other
models are the di-hydrogen pellet fusion engine able to travel to
other in-system planets in a few days, along with a rotating
dedicated gravity area for the crew. The radiators also allowed for
near continuous barrages, as they where arguably the best of their
time. The general layout is a double Decker, with crew habitats
taking top decks and fuel storage and engineering stacked below.

E:2770 “Autonomous Sentient Patrolling Decisive Cruising Weapon” I:CORINTHIANS:XIII An example of the automated border patrol and exploration craft deployed by United Nations command. As more desperate factions, other unknown Earth expeditions and alien threats became apparent a new non-taxing solution to ensuring system security was necessary. These craft, launched as star seeds into resource rich asteroids, hatched and now automatically patrol border regions and far off systems. Never to make first contact but to establish scouting information they have no human crew and are instead controlled by long-duration quantum computer. Less of a ship and more akin to a colony of organisms, the craft was designed to be as minimal wear as possible, and to maximize automation. Larger human manned craft demand exotic matter, spacial folding , and are extremely expensive resource wise. Especially considering even after 700 years the total population in system is only 600 million. As such in order to patrol and safely establish the system( a sphere millions of km large), hundreds of automated ships like these exist. The front and other sections grow out super sensitive radio whiskers. Covered over-all in a light aerogel-ice layer, the ships is powered by matter-anti-matter elimination. The power from which is used in graviton impeller’s to create miniature singularities. These are then formed by micro-organisms who use positron proteins to manipulate them. These organisms are puppeteered by the central computer into creating graviton vortexes. One inverse at the front of the ship pulls matter into collection funnels on both sides of the craft. The matter is then accelerated through the gravity pump jets into the exoverse vortex which thrusts the matter backwards along the rear cooling spine/spacial spike. There are also immense cooling gills along the underside of the craft. If a human crew should need to board, radio triggered hormone packs can grow quarters for crew. These craft also readily mate and lay eggs on resource rich asteroids whenever new units are needed. There is even an investigation into stray star-seeds going rogue and growing independent families of these craft in far off systems.

F:2800 9th generation “manned” star-ship, PRAVINIUS-GALVINDAKAN. Constructed from sections of single molecule hulls, powered by a spinning naked singularity, this is the full power of the UNITIAN forces in 2800, rarely used and more often a force for scientific research, but all to well immensely powerful. It’s crew are a series of virtualised brains, whose minds inter-mesh in a virtual world inside the ship. Thanks to UN traditional emphasis on nietzschean ideals of experience over simulation, their original bodies are also stored on board for the return trip, however advanced matter weavers can be employed to grow new bodies in any form that might be needed. The ship is propelled through space by either macro or micro folds in space-time. It’s primary “weapons” are offensive space shears, capable or stretching or ripping space-time at interstellar ranges, backed up with quark-re-spinners for conceptualizing warheads out of enemy ships matter right into their hulls. It’s most powerful attack is it’s spacial inversion cannon, in which the very laws of space are inverted into the negative, so as enemy matter becomes anti-energy and enemy energy becomes anti-matter. It can also flatten spacial surfaces to jam enemy warp ins. Ironically enough the once proud logo of the UN has been miss-spelled on the hull of this ship, but to “humans” who can speak and share information in any language, such trivialities are nothing.
